Job Description

We are looking for a passionate individual to join our Information Technology team as Senior Business Analyst. The successful individual will work closely with senior leadership, management and various stakeholders to translate business requirements into IT solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with senior leadership, management and various stakeholders to understand and document their business needs and requirements
  • Work closely with technical subject matter experts to understand and document high level solution design and systems security requirements
  • Provide support in identifying, analyzing, planning and executing system design and roll-out
  • Facilitate technical meetings to define solutions, functional specifications, implementation plans, effort, identify resources and schedule activities
  • Contribute to the development of methods to improve business processes, reduce risks, increase controls and/or increase customer satisfaction
  • Develop solutions; work-flowchart and diagrams; study system capabilities; analyze alternative solutions; preparing system specifications
  • Document process flows and create procedure manuals for the functions performed
  • Develop project estimates by identifying phases and elements, resource requirements, and costs system implementation, roll-out; support and development
  • Communicate information effectively to internal customers, managers, and technical staff.
  • Maintain issues log, release log, and decision/ approvals log
  • Manage requirements traceability information and track requirements status throughout the project
  • Lead the development of key initiative documentation such as business cases and briefing notes
  • Responsible for managing and developing applicable test strategies and plans
  • Develop knowledge transfer materials as required
  • Complete work and achieve milestones within the assigned deadlines
  • Provide weekly project status report that reflects progress on tasks, issues/risks that require management attention and planned activities for the next period
  • Develop appropriate presentations for various audiences, especially project steering committee
  • Comply with Kinross IT PMO processes and other applicable Guidelines, Standards and Procedure
  • Provide Business Applications operational support 

Potential for up to 25% travel

Education and Experience 


Undergraduate degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or Project Management

CBAP or PMP designation is definite an asset



5 - 7 years of business analysis experience

Excellent experience eliciting business requirements and documenting same

Must demonstrate experience identifying system & process improvements opportunities

Must demonstrate capability to interpret and translate business needs into application and operational requirements and/ or process improvement

Demonstrated experience in stakeholder, budget/cost, schedule, risk and issue, change and communication management

Must demonstrate strong critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills

Experience with business systems design, implementation and project management

Experience with project delivery framework, application development and/or program management

Experience working with various stakeholder groups including executives, business users and IT technical subject matter experts and vendors

Experience in RFI/RFP process and vendor negotiation


Knowledge of SharePoint, workflow applications, business analytics & BI tools

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in English Language

Must work well independently and in teams

Mining experience is an asset
