The Role

To support accounting, management reporting and financial reporting activities for various entities at IAMGOLD Corporation, primarily focusing on, but not exclusive to, exploration entities.



Your Responsibilities:


Key Area: Responsible for maintaining the financial reporting ledgers for the exploration legal entities (certain exploration sites) and recording journal entries related to their monthly activities


Duties:


Close in a timely and accurate manner the IMG ledgers for certain exploration entities in accordance with the consolidation calendar
Prepare monthly journal entries related to exploration financial reporting
Prepare complete and accurate quarterly audit support binder and monthly close package
Prepare the quarterly and annual exploration variance analysis of balance sheet and income statement
Preparing various financial reports and related analysis as required on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Ensure SOX controls compliance, and implement new controls as needed
Liaise with external and internal audit teams
Assist in management of IMG Corporate chart of accounts

Key Area: Responsible for the exploration departmental reports and assisting in the exploration budgeting and forecasting process


Duties:


Gather exploration financial results on a monthly basis
Prepare monthly exploration management reports for Senior Vice President, Exploration, the corporate exploration department and exploration sites
Prepare or record exploration invoices related to the exploration corporate department
Maintain recordkeeping for exploration related transactions, such as cash calls
Provide support for the exploration corporate department and exploration sites in their information needs regarding actual results (may include both financial and operational results)
Act as chief liaison amongst the finance department, the exploration corporate department and the exploration sites
Prepare quarterly and year-end schedules and working papers, including both financial and operational schedules and working papers as required

Key Area: Responsible for assisting in special projects and maintaining specific accounting areas


Duties:


Assist in the planning and forecasting activities for the exploration entities
Assist in quarterly consolidated exploration review and reporting and financial statement notes and MD&A disclosure as needed
Train local accountants and to perform internal audits of exploration accounting
Prepare and maintain accounting for Asset Retirement Obligations, Investments and other financial reporting areas.
Prepare and maintain quarterly reporting and deliverables to the Audit and Finance Committee
Recommends and implements solutions and process improvements, including documentation and implementation of new exploration standards and processes as needed
Participates in and supports special projects as needed



Qualifications

What we look for:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, or related field

Formal professional designation (CPA)

A minimum of 5 years working experience in a finance organization or Big 4 Accounting Firm

Experience in a multi-entity and multi-currency environment, within a large multi-national organization

Experience within the mining industry / mining exploration accounting is beneficial

Additional qualifications – competency requirements

Highly motivated and independently driven with a sense of urgency

Attention to detail

Good working knowledge of all MS Office Programs and a high level of proficiency in MS Excel are required.

Knowledge of HFM System will be beneficial

Effective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization

Well–developed problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills

Well organized, works well independently and in team settings, possesses good time-management skills, and is able to work well under pressure

Fluency in French or Spanish or both would be an asset
