Summary of Role

This is 2 year, fly-in fly-out role: 8 weeks on / 4 weeks off roster with travel in company time to our Wahgnion mine site in Burkina Faso. 

Key Responsibilities

The CCTV operator will be required to represent Teranga Gold Corporation on the mine site as a member of the Security team. The primary purpose of the CCTV operator position is to provide information to assist the PS Senior Supervisor and Coordinator in maintaining a safe working environment and protection of company assets including loss prevention. 

The key function of this role is to monitor  activities being performed at various locations on the property with the intent of mitigating potentially dangerous situations though safety breaches and asset protection through loss. Primarily, the CCTV operations will be a proactive service rather than reactive. Although in exceptional situations will also be able to provide additional information support for crisis management and safety events. Data recording may be able to assist in reactive investigations.

 

The CCTV team will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the master security control systems, including high and low security access controls. Exclusively, this group in a secure environment will perform basic equipment electronic equipment repairs, upgrades to software and control programs. Specific confidentiality agreements for this role are required. 

                      

·         Operate and fully utilise all WGO Mine CCTV operating systems including monitors, cameras and recorders

·         Ensure fully functionality of security management systems and report defects immediately.

·         Ensure that upgrades and repairs are conducted within company confidentiality guidelines.        

·         Conduct daily checks of external and internal operating systems.                                                             

·         Report proactively and record in a daily log all security breaches and suspicious activities in accordance with mine security procedures.                                                      

·         Assist and advise on the development of CCTV security procedures, equipment and deployment.

·         Conduct a thorough shift handover brief.                                                              .                               Maintain physically fitness, high standard of personal hygiene, dress and bearing.

·         Follow instructions and work within the legal frameworks of the SOP’s and company policies.

Required Skills & Experience

  •          Completion of high school education
  •          Good heath –With ability to concentrate for long periods reviewing screen images.
  •           Bilinguism in English and French is required
  •         Maintenance of basic IT equipment used in CCTV monitoring.
  •          The person should have an aptitude for CCTV hardware as they need to be able to maintain their own equipment.
  •          Surveillance experience would be beneficial – but not essential.
  •          The person has to be comfortable in working in isolation for long periods of time.
  •          Working knowledge of appropriate software programs that will facilitate the reporting and control aspects of the project (MS Office)
  •          Experience with access control and CCTV monitoring systems.
