Establish proper project controls on all capital projects executed by the corporate engineering group. Establish structured change management processes to ensure proper documentation of all variances and trends approved on the projects. Manage accounting functions, including cost reporting and forecasting. Monitor performance and address issues identified by Project Administration & Controls Managers on other engineering projects. Ensure proper SOX controls exist on all projects and address any deficiencies with the appropriate controls manager. 
  • Establish and monitor project controls for assigned projects and establish proper project controls for projects assigned to other Project Administration & Controls Managers, including the establishment and management of effective change management systems
  • Manage the administrative functions required to support ongoing projects and be the point-of-contact to address issues identified by the Project Administration and Controls Managers
  • Execute accounting functions on assigned projects, including review/processing of invoices, manage and control vendor payments, recovery of overpayments, monitor and manage back charges, and preparation and maintenance of financial entries into the IT systems.  This will include mentoring administration and controls managers on other projects to ensure proper processes and procedures are in place
  • Manage cost control function, including preparation of project forecasts, cash call projections, cost reporting, capturing and reporting costs within the IT systems and maintaining budget reporting integrated within the change management system
  • Ensure that proper cost control functions are established on all capital projects
  • Provide direct project management support when required in areas including procurement, contracts, subcontracts and project change orders
  • Monitor performance and address issues identified by Project Administration & Controls Managers on other engineering projects. Ensure proper SOX controls exist on all projects and address any deficiencies with the appropriate controls manager
  • Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED and (12) years of experience in control/accounting management, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field and seven (7) years of experience in control/accounting management, OR
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field and five (5) years of experience in control/accounting management



  • Previous work experience preferred in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering or a related field
  • Degree in Construction Management
  • Minimum five (5) years experience on Capitol Projects in Engineers office and/or the field
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a leadership role in Project Controls
  • Experience with EcoSys, Hard Dollar (in Eight) and Primavera P6
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Position is in busy, non-smoking office located in downtown New Orleans, LA
  • Position is likely to involve extensive travel or temporary relocation to project construction sites
  • Location requires mobility in an office environment; each floor is accessible by elevator
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 30 pounds) during the course of the workday
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
