CONTRACT MINING SERVICES

African Mining Services (AMS) offers contract surface mining and exploration drilling services to the mining industry throughout West Africa.

We are seeking expressions of interest from Senior ICT professionals to work at our office in Dakar, Senegal to provide input into strategic direction for the implementation, maintenance and support of ICT solutions to meet the needs and visions of the AMS Group.

The successful candidate will be accountable for the leadership and operational integrity of services provided by the department and report directly to the Group ICT Operations Manager.

Your key responsibilities will include:

·         Leading, developing, motivating and mentoring the Regional ICT Team in the delivery and completion of ICT service delivery initiatives to achieve a high standard of user satisfaction;

·         Maintain policies and procedures regarding the use of ICT services, in line with the Group Technology function guidelines;

·         Provide expert advice about the feasibility and suitability of proposed hardware and software upgrades to improve operations in alignment with budgetary requirements;

·         Manage and develop key stakeholder relationships through effective communication and negotiation skills for effectiveness and efficiency in addressing service issues, ensuring business needs are met relative to incident tracking and escalation.;

·         Preparation of cost-benefit analysis for changes in the IT workflow;

·         ITIL certifications are highly regarded.

To be considered for this role you will demonstrate a successful career history with:

·         A minimum of 3+ years in ICT:

o    Technology planning and execution

o    Leading an enterprise team

o    Staff leadership and mentoring

o    ICT Project Manager

·         A strong working knowledge and practice in IT best practice and methodologies;

·         Extensive hands-on experience with various physical and virtual architecture;

·         Understanding of emerging technology concepts and technologies, particularly Microsoft 365 and leading cloud technologies;

·         Experience in supporting and servicing a diverse range of end users;

·         Strong stakeholder management combined with excellent communication skills;

·         Capability for regional and further international travel;

·         Fluent in English and French- both written and verbal
