Job Description

Working with internal and external stakeholders the Supply Chain Analyst - Category Management supports the Senior Manager, Strategic Procurement, and the team with analytical expertise in the areas of baseline spend preparation, supply market research, cost modelling, key commodity market intelligence and price-volume analysis required to execute competitive sourcing events, enabling category reporting and key decision-making. This role is a key member of the global supply chain team focused on mining, developing and manipulating global spend data to enable procurement leadership to meet business objectives of lowering the total cost of ownership for goods and services.

Job Responsibilities

Works with business partners to assess priorities and contribute to the development of sourcing, procurement and category management strategies

Develops and maintains databases, analytical tools, techniques and systems to analyze and interpret information in support of procurement and sourcing planning as well as decision-making

Performs market research and cost modelling analysis to inform sourcing and negotiation strategies

Develops and provides reports to support effective management of supplier performance and to track and report on total cost of ownership improvements

Identifies, develops, and deploys tools to streamline processes and improve procurement metrics and reporting

Works with business partners to synthesize, analyze and develop data sets and cost models and effectively manages the interface with relevant stakeholders as required to ensure the most useful work product

Applies risk management and compliance checks when researching and analyzing internal and external data, supply markets and contract performance to identify anomalies and develops risk mitigation and management responses

Leverages Kinross relationships, systems and knowledge to champion a high performance and results focused culture, and motivates team members by fostering an inclusive work environment

Identifies problems and roadblocks working to develop solutions actively participating in the development, implementation and oversight of actions

When necessary, implements a governance structure, communication plans, and tracking mechanisms to deliver results

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in management, finance, supply chain or related field

Three + years of experience in program management, financial services, or procurement

Experience working with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, and JD Edwards) is required

Knowledgeable in data analytics methodologies and techniques 

Proficiency in various data analytics tools, such as SQL Servers, and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc

Expert in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Understands the wider objectives of procurement practices, such as business and strategic goal setting, problem solving and analytical skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with leadership teams

Proven ability to balance multiple priorities, adapt to constantly changing business environment, and work independently

Attention to detail, analytical rigor and ability to be error-free is required

Ability to communicate in French, Portuguese or Russian an asset not mandatory. Able to work in high-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines

Available to work non-standard work hours when required

International travel to mine sites required (up to 25%)
