We are a recently expanded department comprised of communications professionals from around the company now focusing on a single goal – telling engaging, informative stories about our employees and our company. If you want to be part of our team, apply for the writer position below.

  • Compose creative and engaging stories that include photography/video for various internal and external communications vehicles.
  • Develop, write and post social media content using detailed understanding of publishing tools, analytics tools and social marketing technology along with all native platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and more).
  • Under the supervision of the Manager-Corporate Communications, provide guidance to site leadership of assigned business units that align with Corporate strategy.
  • Support the Corporate Communications team on Corporate-wide initiatives; execute a variety of media, including face-to-face meetings, intranet, widely dispersed emails, video, newsletters, etc.
  • Special projects as assigned that would include communication of various Companywide initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Mass Communications, English or equivalent work experience and seven (7) years of experience in Corporate Communications or Mass Communications
  • Passion, energy and enthusiasm for social media
  • Detailed knowledge and expertise around all social platforms
  • Experience in executing successful social media campaigns and marketing strategies native to individual channels
  • Excellent command of grammar and knowledge of AP writing style
  • Thorough understanding of writing strategies and tactics
  • History of professional experience in a corporate, creative services or print, electronic or social media environment
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Excellent editing and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to produce content assets quickly, flexibly adjust to changes in priority and find creative ways to repurpose existing content for new uses
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and on deadline
  • Relevant knowledge, interest, and experience in digital and mobile communications, storytelling and content
  • Skilled at collaborating within and outside of department
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Strong demonstration of writing, editing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly understand and effectively communicate complex, technical subject matter
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities and handle multiple tasks with concentration, speed and accuracy to meet multiple deadlines and shifting requirements to produce a large volume of high-quality material with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and able to work at a fast pace, while maintaining high accuracy and quick turnaround time on assigned projects
  • Ability to work with sensitive information and oversee high-visibility projects and processes
  • Ability to work effectively in an environment subject to changing priorities and short deadlines



  • Experience in a multi-location organization with multi-national/global communications and mining, natural resources or similar industry
  • Experience composing long-form content, in an engaging and creative way
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Position is in busy, non-smoking office located in downtown Phoenix, AZ
  • Location requires mobility in an office environment; each floor is accessible by elevator and internal staircase
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
