Based in Mauritania, Kinross Tasiast is set to become one of the great gold finds of our generation. It is the first mine in a highly prospective greenstone belt, located within an extensive gold system that is largely underexplored.

Purpose of Role

 

Reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor, this role is responsible for the accounts payable function for local vendors.

Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties 

 

  • Enters vendor invoices in JDE through three way match and standard voucher.
  • Reviews all vendor invoices for appropriate documentation and Mauritanian requirements.
  • Physical and electronic filing of invoices.
  • Preparing vendor statement reconciliations and resolution of reconciling items.
  • Prioritizes vendor invoices according to payment terms.
  • Reviews AP aging reports and investigates reasons for aged items.
  • Serves as a contact point for vendor inquiries.
  • Works with Supply Chain personnel to resolve differences between purchase orders and invoices from vendors.
  • Ad hoc reporting as required.

Education and Experience

 

  • School level qualification.
  • Degree from an authorized institution in finance, business administration, accounting, economics or other closely related courses would be a plus
  • Experience of accounts payable modules in ERP accounting packages, preferably JDE.
  • Experience in the use of data entry programs.
  • Two-five years’ work experience preferred.
  • Good IT skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
