The Role: This role liaises with the Project Manager to support project (and contract) schedules, work progress, cost reporting and tracking (commitments, expenditures, estimated to complete, revised estimates), change order management, contingency management, analysis of costs (direct and indirect), support cost reporting through Oracle PA and extended reporting on advancement per contract or package as part of earned value processes. The resource is also responsible for executing the contract administration process and coordinating all interfaces within the project and the company. The candidate must ensure process integrity, provide commercial experience and insight, and protect the company against risk exposure.

Your Responsibilities:

Planning and scheduling

Supervise and validate the schedule for the various packages.
Ensure the consolidation of the data provided by the various Project services, contractors, the Project progress monitoring and the reporting progress
Validate site progress
Interface with Project Controller and integrate with Project Accounting Oracle-Suite implementation and project use.



Cost Control

Estimate and forecast of costs, schedules and required resources for specific contracts.
Support the team in the calculation of cost factors and preparation of estimates used for planning, organizing and scheduling work, bid and proposal preparation, vendor and sub-contractor selection, and evaluating cost effectiveness.
Monitor costs and schedules for all assigned projects.
Responsible for packages scope control.



Contract Admin

Ensure alignment with the Project Management team on Project contract administration needs, objectives and requirements.
Maintain compliance to the contracts.
Support in negotiations of claims, variations, changes and disputes with contractors in collaboration with Project Management, Legal Department and others as required.
Witness site work and site changes
Evaluate and prepare supplier claims as required
Ensure communication of changes to contracts to all key stakeholders.
Ensure Contractor’s contract administration and subcontracting procedures and processes meet contract requirements.
Ensure communications between Company and contractors are consistent with terms and conditions in agreements.
Follow up on contractual items on a regular basis.
Develop and execute administrative processes that advance the Project’s procedures, goals and objectives.
Interface with the project team, internal departments and external vendors on matters such as cost, performance, progress assessment, payments, reporting, trends, and change orders.
Liaise with subject matter experts on the Project team regarding functional areas.
Manage contract milestone activities, and close-out activities, ensure orderly turnover of Project.
Report contract(s) performance on a regular basis.


Qualifications

Engineering Degree or equivalent
3-5 years of experience in projects/construction
Knowledge of project management principles, project controls, schedule management, estimating and cost control.
Understanding of commercial, contractual and financial project drivers.
Knowledge of the mining industry an asset.
Knowledge of the project cost management an asset
Knowledge of general accounting and auditing principles
Ability to establish plans, determine cost basis, review accounting data, produce and document forecasts and report results to management.
Ability to manage costs and schedules, analyse and prepare monthly cost reports as well as measure and monitor progress.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain systems for monitoring of project performances.
Excellent organizational and communication skills possessing a high level of problem-solving and analytical skills.
Focus and results oriented.
Teamwork and Communication skills
