Purpose of The Role:

Must manage the Fabrication workshop in such a manner to provide Service to the entire Mine Site. All Personnel in Fabrication Shop will report to him. He will make sure that all equipment that are Manufactured, repaired will have drawing and signed off by a Mechanical Engineer. All jobs and equipment that are worked on are Statutory comply.

Key Accountabilities

* Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama.
* Maintain HSE standards and ensure strict compliance within the process plant control room
* Manage & Supervise the Fabrication shop
* Coordinate activities of your team in accordance with the weekly plan
* Participate in the formulation of the maintenance plans
* Liaise with the leadership team on performance issues
* Embed the culture of quality repairs and continuous improvement in the team
* Coordinate the operation of the Salvage Yard
* Ensure Statutory compliance is maintained
* Risk identification & management within the Workshop and Plant area
* Developing and management of People in the Workshop and Plant
* Drive Safety within work space
* Control, report and reduce operational costs, and ensure cost consideration taken with all decisions.
* Implement FQM Way culture in the Control Room team - "Bolder, Smarter, Driven, Together."

Skills, Knowledge & Experience


* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* English / Spanish
* Demonstrated ability to mentor and train personnel

* Minimum Trade Qualification
* Welding certified advantage
* Cert IV Training qualification or equivalent
* RCA Qualifications (desirable)
* Microsoft (Excel, word, project etc.)


* Equipment knowledge: Ultra Class Equipment

Working Conditions

Cobre Panama is a remote site. The position is offered as Residential or FIFO with a strong preference for the incumbent to be residential.
