Maintenance Superintendent; Planning and Scheduling

Maintenance Superintendent; Planning and Scheduling

South Africa

Our client is a multinational, multi commodity, growing listed miner with an excellent outlook and growth story ahead.

The position will be recruited on a 6 month contract  => perm basis so will likely suit someone who is immediately available.

The mine has recently expanded their underground fleet with new equipment and as such require an experienced UG Maintenance Scheduler to ensure the equipment is well maintained and not subject to avoidable damage.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

-      Ownership of the fleet maintenance and repair contract (MARC)

-      Ensuring availability of underground trackless equipment to limit or eliminate production stoppages.

-      Implementing new maintenance procedures and implementing Preventative Maintenance policies.

-      Defensive, risk management planning to ensure equipment complies with warranty stipulations protecting the company from unnecessary financial losses.

-      Communication with the OEM and Senior Management giving visibility on planning.

-      Pipeline planning for the arrival of new parts.

We are open to different models of candidate provided they have the necessary skills to undertake the above. For example, a degree qualified Engineer who has worked as a UG Planning Scheduler or perhaps someone at the Mining Manager level who still has those hands on planning skills to defend the company from stoppages or unnecessary fees to the OCEM.

The role rotation will likely be 5 days on 2 and days off site (with accommodation provided) but we can approach the placement in different ways dependent on personal circumstance.
