The Role:
The Talent & Corporate HR Advisor is a multi-dimensional role that supports the execution of strategic HR programs as well as manages the day-to-day operational HR needs of clients/stakeholders within the Toronto corporate office.

As a centre of expertise, the talent management function works closely in supporting HR operational teams to ensure effective identification and design of programs that promote the short and long-term development and retention of IAMGOLD employees. Additionally, the Advisor is responsible for applying HR policies, procedures, and programs in their region, and supporting employees and managers by responding to HR inquiries.

This is a maternity leave contract for approximately 15 months.

Your Responsibilities:

Corporate & Business Partner Support

Maintain knowledge of best practices in human resources and related employment legislation; contribute to development policy; monitor the implementation of human resource strategies, policies and programs.
Provide input to the design of HR programs and initiatives and sure they are successfully communicated and implemented globally, well understood, and they are aligned with IAMGOLD’s strategy, value, philosophy, and approach. Ensure consistency of process/programs across regions.
Provide business partner support to managers and leaders within the corporate group with respect to talent acquisition, performance management, team development.
Provide employee relations services to employees requiring information on performance management, career planning, conflict resolution, and other matters.

Global Talent Management Programs

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in areas of performance management, succession planning, onboarding, organizational development and learning.
Collaborate with HR functional areas to develop ways for operations to support learning, development, change, performance management, onboarding, and succession planning.
Co-design annual performance management program and succession planning cycle, and support implementation of both processes at all global sites.
Develop and track program metrics to monitor success and identify opportunities for program improvement

Learning & Development Programs

Identify, design, present and evaluate learning and development needs in support of critical business needs, issues and strategic business objectives.
Determine appropriate method of delivery as appropriate for the content, objectives, locations, available time, and professional standards. Assess and further develop training formats to meet the needs in the field.
Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of adult learning principles and instructional design.
Collaborate with HR Operations to oversee Learning Management System (and other related systems) to ensure proper records are maintained relating to attendance and course completion. Perform administrative tasks such as setting up systems, coordinating enrollment, and scheduling reports.


What we look for:

5+ years’ experience in Human Resources with focus on talent management and business partner support

University degree with concentration on business administration and human resources management

CHRP or CHRL in progress

Experience building and managing global programs is an asset

Working knowledge of learning management systems and other HR technologies/systems

Ability to think critically, and objectively evaluate options/alternatives

Exceptional ability to organize and prioritize work without losing sight of the details

Capacity to manage several projects while executing daily tasks in a fast-paced environment

Strong adaptability and resourcefulness, capable of drawing creative and forward-thinking solutions

Demonstration of high level of personal integrity, accountability and ethics

Establishes trust and credibility; forges strong value-added relationship within HR and across the business

Motivates and influences others; supports and leads change

Team-oriented and skilled at working within a collaborative environment

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas simply
