The Buyer, Project Development is responsible for supporting procurement strategies, guidelines and execution plans for IAMGOLD studies and development projects, whether in self-execution mode with the IAMGOLD project team or in collaboration with the Engineering Procurement Management Construction (IAGC) service provider.

Support the management of contracts and purchase orders in accordance with the standards and objectives of the project.

Support the achievement of contractual commitments necessary to ensure that the scope of the project is carried out in accordance with health and safety standards, at milestones established in the schedule, and in accordance with approved budgets and industry standards.
Support the procurement process by developing and enforcing the commercial terms of major contracts.
Ensure business terms are compliant and aligned with current best practices and constraints of IAMGOLD.
Support the contractual process (formulation, initiation, execution, relaunch, closure and settlement of claims) in a support role for the builder once the AGC contract has been awarded.
Collaborate with the IAGC procurement team to honor its contractual commitments with its subcontractors and suppliers and to ensure that work is carried out in accordance with project standards.
Execute procurement processes, in accordance with project standards and systems, in all phases of each purchase order and contract.

Use and maintain generic procurement templates and documents.
Preparation and management of lists of tenderers; tender documents (including terms and conditions), receive, analyze, clarify and build the benchmarking table of proposals received and prepare the recommendation of commercial offers.
Prepare, assign and manage purchase orders and service agreements.
Use spreadsheets and database software applications as they apply to procurement.


Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance or engineering, preferred.
Between 5-8 years of related work experience in procurement and contract management, in both office project environments and in construction.
Previous experience in mining or construction industry is preferred.
Knowledge of the mining industry and project cost management is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain project performance monitoring systems.
Excellent organizational and communication skills with a high level of problem solving and analytical skills.
Results oriented.
Leadership and influencing skills.
Teamwork and communication skills.
Fluency in English is required and French speaking skills are preferred.
Proficiency in computer applications and software, in particular SharePoint, MS Office and Oracle.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Well organized, functions well independently and in a team, has good time management skills and is able to work effectively under pressure.
