Manager, Operations Readiness - Boto - Longueuil Office

The Role: The Operations Readiness Manager has the responsibility of leading the development, implementation, update and enforcement of Operational Readiness standards and specifications for the project delivered by the Project Development Group. This role coordinates the operational elements from the project team and ensure these elements are completed on time and that the project deliverables are to an acceptable and sustainable level for the Operations. The role is also responsible for leading and facilitating the development of the operational structure, policies and procedures, HSS, maintenance, procurement and operating discipline framework. The role facilitates the successful and efficient reception of the Project that abide to our Corporate Policies and Standards.

Your Responsibilities:
Develop manuals, guidelines and forms to support the teams using workshops, peer experience and lessons learnt from completed projects.

Interface with Commissioning Manager to transfer project infrastructure to operations. Ensure that all operations resources are trained and qualified to participate in commissioning activities.
Assisting in the management of and communication to key internal and external stakeholders.
Establish and put in place systems to manage the Operational Readiness for the Project.
Provide the project with leadership and expertise across disciplines and act as a referral and sign off point for strategic technical decisions and monitoring of readiness performance.
Establishing direction and strategy for project delivery including the development of monitoring systems continuous improvement, engagement of owners group with the Project Execution Team (EPCM) and assist with the operational readiness personnel.
Providing operational engineering input to the Project Manager on engineering and equipment performance standards and expectations.
Help the General Manager to develop the Operations architecture and functions for the creation of the Operations team.
Work closely with Dakar office personnel for corporate affairs and local aspects of the project.
Develop manuals, guidelines and forms to support the teams using workshops, peer experience and lessons learnt from completed projects.

Operating Principals Manual including Start-up, Normal Operations, Shutdown Guidelines/Procedures.
MRO (Maintain Repair Overhaul) policies, procedures and standard jobs.
Start-up, Normal Operations, Shutdown Guidelines/Procedures.
Lock-out Tag-out catalogues and management.
Owners’ costs, working Capital and Ramp-up costs.

Qualifications

What we look for:
University degree preferably in engineering.
10-12 years of related work experience, with at least 5 years of related management experience.
Experience in the mining/natural resource industry is required.
Experience in Project Management is also a key asset.
French oral and written communication and good interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent time management and organizational skills.
Proactive and energetic customer service orientation with awareness to issues of equity and diversity.
Ability to interact with all levels of members in the organization.
