Job Description:
 
Our client is seeking a Project Manager with a background in the evaluation and preparation of Greenfields and brownfields mining projects in Africa to join their team in Gauteng.
 
Responsibilities:

• Evaluating and preparation of M&A projects for investor review, disposal or operational readiness.
• Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders including vendors, investors, project and operations teams.
• Government liaison in-country to secure and maintain licensing and permits.
• Assisting in the management of non-core assets, with a focus on development, maintenance and budget planning.
• Advising management on critical decisions, proposed strategies and key developments.
• Mentoring and training subordinates.

 
Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Relevant technical degree.
• Project management qualification preferred.
• 10 years’ experience in the development of mining assets in Africa.
• Strong operational readiness expertise.
• Experienced in large scale project management, financial analysis, business planning and private equity.
• Financial and investment appraisal capabilities.
