The Role:
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Manager, Business Partner & Talent will play a key role in the development and execution of our Talent strategy, and will partner with our Toronto-based corporate client group on anything and everything related to human capital.

This is a multi-dimensional role and you’ll be part of a small team where you’ll get to roll up your sleeves - to manage, create, build, test and roll out talent initiatives both locally and globally. It will be an ideal assignment for someone who enjoys the strategic nature of program design and build, but also has the discipline and focus required to manage all of the details involved in successful program execution and the achievement of daily operational objectives.

This is a maternity leave contract for a minimum of 14 months.

Your Responsibilities:

Corporate Business Partner Support

Demonstrate sound knowledge of best practices in human resources and related employment legislation; contribute to policy development; monitor the implementation of talent strategies and programs.
Lead the design of HR programs and initiatives and ensure they are aligned with IAMGOLD’s strategy, value, philosophy and approach, and are successfully communicated and implemented globally. Ensure consistency of process/programs across regions.
Provide business partner support, coaching and guidance to managers and leaders within the corporate group with respect to talent acquisition, performance management, and team development.
Provide employee relations support to employees requiring information on performance management, career planning, conflict resolution, and other matters.
Global Talent Management Programs

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in areas of performance management, succession planning, onboarding, organizational development and learning, and translate that into practice as we build out our global talent programs.
Collaborate with HR functional areas to develop ways for operations to support learning, development, change, performance management, onboarding, and succession planning.
Co-design our annual performance management program and succession planning cycle, and co-lead implementation of both processes at all global sites.
Develop and track program metrics to monitor success and identify opportunities for program improvement

Learning & Development Programs

Lead the design and build-out of a global L&D framework.
Identify, design, present and evaluate learning and development needs in support of critical business needs, issues and strategic business objectives.
Determine appropriate method of delivery as appropriate for the content, objectives, locations, available time, and professional standards. Assess and further develop training formats to meet the needs in the field.
Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of adult learning principles and instructional design.
Collaborate with the HRIT team to oversee Learning Management System (and other related systems) to ensure proper records are maintained relating to attendance and course completion. Perform operational and technical tasks such as setting up systems, coordinating enrollment, and scheduling reports.


What we’re looking for:

10+ years’ experience in Human Resources with focus on talent management program development and execution, and business partner support
University degree with concentration on business administration and human resources management
CHRP with CHRL in progress
Solid understanding of Ontario employment legislation
Strong project management capabilities with experience building and managing global talent programs
Working knowledge of learning management systems and other HR technologies/systems to ensure that programs are correctly configured within our systems. Experience with Oracle HCM and Sharepoint is an asset.
Ability to think critically, and objectively evaluate options/alternatives
Exceptional ability to organize and prioritize work without losing sight of the details
Strong adaptability and resourcefulness, capable of drawing creative and forward-thinking solutions
Demonstration of high level of personal integrity, accountability and ethics
Ability to establish trust and credibility; forge strong value-added relationship within HR and across the business
Team-oriented and skilled at working within a collaborative environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas simply
