Assistant Manager Human Resources - Rosebel Mine Site, Suriname

The Role:

To implement the HR plan for the Rosebel mine including the administration of HR programs and practices related to labour relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, development of talent (national and expatriate workforce), succesion planning, health and safety and recruitment and selection. To advise employees and managers about HR related matters. #LI-SS1

Your Responsibilities:

Actively partner with managers and Corporate HR to drive the development and delivery of HR programs and services.

Maximize opportunities to engage leaders and employees through the implementation of HR strategies, policies, programs and initiatives.
Provide input to the design of HR programs and initiatives and ensure they are successfully implemented globally, well understood, and they support IAMGOLD’s strategy and values.
Provides project management to key initiatives.
Forecast HR related expenditures and manage the budget and ongoing allocation of resources.
Provide employee relations services to employees requiring information about performance management, career planning, conflict resolution, labour relations and other matters.

Manage labor relations activities and compensation and benefits.

Negotiate, administer and interpret the Collective Bargaining Agreement and all other relevant legislation.
Administer and interpret policies for non-bargaining unit hourly and salaried employees.
Manage all legal claims regarding employment issues.
Develop and ensure compliance of all policies and procedures.
Develop communication strategies for employees.
Manage the administration of compensation programs to ensure internal equity and compliance with company practices.

Manage and administer the hiring, onboarding, relocation, exit and Talent Management processes for employees.

Manage the advertising, screening, interviewing, selection, and relocation process of all new internal and external hires.
Manage and deliver the employee induction process and ensure new employees are aware of job requirements and health and safety standards.
Provide management of expatriate population.
Manage all employee exit procedures and meetings with affected employees.
Development of talent, competencies and identification of emerging leaders (nationals and expatriate employees).
Develop and train national employees to ensure development of national workforce.

Manage a team of HR professionals accountable for HR service delivery and administration.

Ensure the team proactively handles all HR related activities.
Build a team with appropriate talents through recruitment and development.
Provide employees with clear work objectives and expectations of the performance levels required.
Ensure that training is provided to the team in accordance with the future needs of direct reports.
Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.

Qualifications

What we look for:
University Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources Management.
Minimum of 8 years' of human resources experience.
Minimum of 3 years' progressive experience in senior management roles.
Minimum of 10 years' of experience supervising others.
Previous experience working in international operations and a multi-cultural environment.
Previous experience in a unionized organization.
Experience in Collective Bargaining.
Experience with compensation and benefits administration.
Judgement and Business Savvy.
